Facing unprecedented growth with the success of the Wii and DS entertainment systems, the Nintendo of America Executive Team sought assistance from Moementum, Inc. to both assess the current state of the organization, and to revitalize the internal look and feel of the company. Through culture assessment, 360-degree leadership feedback, organization design, a series of executive off-site strategy meetings, and on-going leadership coaching and support over a 3-year period, they succeeded in both transforming the company and themselves as the team at the top.

The solar inverter market has seen dynamic changes in the past 5 years, including recent eight fold growth to meet demand in an increasingly integral renewable energy space designed to meet global energy demand for the long-term future. PV Powered contacted Moementum, Inc. for executive team development and support as it sought to build the company for sale, and then in an on-going way to manage the integration post-purchase by Advanced Energy Corporation. The shift from a 30-person garage shop to a 150+ person global provider of residential and commercial inverters has required extensive human resource planning and organizational design, executive coaching, leadership training, culture assessment, and facilitation over the last 4 years.

A family held business is always a unique challenge, but when Tim Smythe, Founder and CEO, decided to elevate Bill Scannell to CEO and to step into the Chairman role, it meant sweeping changes for “how things are done” at Structus. Over a 12-month period, Moementum worked closely with Bill and Tim to redesign the leadership team structure, develop senior leaders, assess and take action on cultural strengths and challenges, and revamp how meetings and cascading communication take place. Despite the economic downturn of 2009 for the building trades, Structus maintains year-over-year growth and expansion in its Bend, OR facility.

As the third generation of this family held business took the helm of the undisputed leader of fundraising chocolate, opportunities for improvement were plentiful – from forming a new executive team to creating a culture that saw waste and scrap as the enemy. Beginning with a localized culture change and employee engagement initiative, we have the privilege to assist in comprehensive leader development, building better cross functional implementation teams and aligning people development practices with WFC’s long range strategy. The most recent evidence of WFC’s improvement was in 2010 when it was named as #27 by the employees as one of Chicago’s top 100 places to work.

Working as faculty and lead designers for the Duke University Leadership Training Associates we were invited to design a customized leadership development process to align with Novozymes values of Openness and Passion. Our goal was to connect the fundamental skills of emotional intelligence with the concepts of sustainability and innovation into a seamless process. Novozyme is a multi-national, Danish-held biotechnology company, so developing and delivering an effective curriculum had to take into account the cultural diversity of the participants. Working with an internal design team, we developed a complex, sustainable development process that now been transplanted for Novozymes leaders in North and South America and is in 8th year of operation.
